Noor
Noor means light, and the fanous is the pierced brass lantern hung over courtyards on blessed nights. Under a slim crescent moon the lantern catches, its light spills through the cut-outs as stars, and an eight-point girih lattice blazes gold before opening onto your Nikah and Walima.
